The Chalange
Manchester Digital’s online platform no longer reflected the fast-paced, forward thinking digital sector it represented. Both the public-facing site and the admin tools behind it needed a complete overhaul to improve engagement, usability, and operational efficiency.
The Opportunity
Redesign the entire membership and admin experience from the ground up to better serve members, streamline sign ups, and give the team tools to drive growth.

My Role
I led the design, working closely with the lead strategist to reshape the platform around Manchester Digital’s new voice, values, and ambitions.

End-to-End Platform Redesign
We reimagined the full site and internal admin systems, focusing on user needs across every touchpoint.
Richer Events & Content
The events area was rebuilt to be more dynamic and engaging, with improved discovery and richer content experiences.

Simplified Member Journey
We introduced a more intuitive sign up process and a clearer dashboard experience making it easier for members to join, engage, and renew.

Results
A smarter, more effective digital platform that led to a 208% increase in revenue, a 296% increase in new member sign ups, and a significant reduction in membership lapses driven by improved UX, clearer data, and a more engaging member experience.
"We've worked with Matt for over 5 years, and trust him with the visual design for all of our clients. Matt has the perfect combination of out-of-the-box thinking and practical experience, knowing how to deliver an innovative and creative design that is also on brief and practical to implement by our developer team. Not one to sit still, Matt regularly stays up to date with design trends and developments, pushing us to stay ahead of the curve with our design tools, processes and overall style. Matt is a hugely valued member of our team, and we wouldn't be the agency we are without him."
